Zhangjiakou, Hebei Working Language: English Objectives: 1.To promote technological and scientific exchange in terms of dryland farming, cultivation and food deep-processing. 2.To deliver academic report and enable the participants to understand the characteristics of agricultural production in different countries and regions. 3.To promote exchanges and cooperation in dryland farming and deepen friendship between China and the rest of the world. Programs: The programs include: functions of hybrid foxtail millet in dryland farming and food safety; seed production technology of hybrid foxtail millet; cultivation technology of hybrid foxtail millet; application of agricultural machinery to millet cultivation; nutritive value of millet and technology training of its food processing; hybrid foxtail millet pest control technology, hybrid foxtail millet fertilization technology. In addition, the participants will investigate the seed cultivation and processing base of hybrid foxtail millet. The workshop topics include: introduction to China’s millet cultivation and breeding; traditional and hybrid foxtail millet cultivation technology, fertilization technology, and seed production technology; nutritive value of millet; plant diseases and pest control; function of hybrid foxtail millet in world’s food safety; nutrition, health value, and processing of millet food.
