This workshop aims to enable participants from LMC countries to understand the international progress on the prevention and control technology of livestock TADs, especially for FMD and ASF; provide lab training for antigen and antibody detection of FMD and ASF, as well as the technology of TAD diagnosis, detection, monitoring and forewarning; offer participants an opportunity to share knowledge on the prevention and control technology of livestock TADs such as FMD and ASF, and lay foundations for future development among LMC countries in veterinary technology
Programs:
1. Lectures on the epidemic situation, control strategies and research progress of FMD and ASF in China, and the development of pilot zoning management of TAD in Yunnan border areas. 2. Laboratory training for detection techniques, including training on detection techniques of antigens and antibodies for FMD and ASF such as PCR and ELISA . 3. Field trips. Participants will visit the associated veterinary labs, the large-scale farms and slaughterhouses in Yunnan to learn about the latest progress of TAD detection system in China. 4. Seminar discussion on the current situation of FMD and ASF epidemics and their prevention and control technologies in LMC countries, the cross-border movement of livestock and the risk of TADs spreading in LMC countries, and ideas and strategies on technical cooperation on TAD prevention and control.
