Strengthen participants’ capacity in sustainable management and policy-making related to organic wastes. 2. Master accelerated composting technologies for organic wastes from both urban and rural areas. 3. Build capacity in sustainable agriculture and circular economy practices. 4. Promote technical exchanges and cooperation among governments, academia, and industry in developing countries of the Global South. Programs: Module 1: Foundations of Composting: Principles of organic waste management and traditional composting; Microbial ecology and inoculants for accelerated decomposition Module 2: Technology & Application: Accelerated composting systems (closed-silo reactors, optimization of temperature/moisture/pH); Combined technologies: remineralizers, additives, and scaling up lab practices to industrial operations Module 3: Policy and Economics: Policy frameworks for sustainable waste management (ISO 14001, WHO guidelines); Circular economy models and funding mechanisms for green projects Module 4: Practical Implementation: Hands-on lab session and field visits to operational facilities; Group projects: develop localized composting plans for participants’ home countries Module 5: Collaboration & Innovation: Interactive workshops on overcoming regional challenges (e.g. climate conditions, urban waste hubs); Networking sessions with industry experts and policymakers.
