Objectives:

To train the technical manpower and program officers engaged in mushroom research, production and technical extension in developing countries. To introduce mushroom biology, genetics, breeding and cultivation in China, and make contribution to the development of mushroom production in developing countries. To enhance interchange and cooperation in mushroom research and production with developing countries. 

Programs:

1. General introduction to mushroom biology and development of mushroom production in China

2. Basic knowledge of mushroom genetic and breeding

3. Major methods for cultivation of wood-rot and straw-rot mushrooms in China

4. Introduction to various functions of edible & medicinal mushrooms and development of products

5. Rare mushroom cultivation

6. Prevention and control of mushroom diseases and pests

Practice and Visit:

7. General processes of mushroom cultivation, including compost preparation, mixing, filling, sterilization, inoculation, and the use of relevant equipment

8. Cultivation of Volvariella volvacea

9. Cultivation of Lentinula edodes

10. Visiting mushroom farm and mushroom factory
