Objectives:

To coordinate, promote and support the development and management of Asian botanical gardens

To help build regional capacity and expertise at a time of rapid global change

To strengthen botanical garden networking among the Asian developing countries and promote exchange of professional skills and ideas 

Programs:

Lectures: the mission and the development of botanical gardens, plant exhibition, botanical garden design, flower production and flower design, genetic issues in plant conservation, taxonomy, herbarium and seed bank, education theory and practice, customer service and marketing.

Field trips: plant identification, specimen making, field survey methods and techniques.

Site visits: Shanghai Botanical Garden, Songjiang Zuibaichi Park and Fangta Park, Hangzhou Botanical Garden and Shanghai Natural History Museum.
