The international training workshops launched by the Ministry of Science and Technology of China from 1989 are an important part of China’s technical assistance to developing countries. Each year, the Ministry of Science and Technology of China supports Chinese companies, universities and research institutions in organizing international training workshops. During the period from 2006 to 2022, over 700 workshops were held, involving over 14,000 trainees. These workshops cover a variety of fields, such as agriculture (including forestry, animal husbandry and fishery), new energy, information technology and advanced manufacturing, resources and environment, healthcare, and science & technology management.

There are a lot of Chinese technologies that meet the needs of developing countries. Their wide application can boost economic growth and technological progress of developing countries. The international training workshops, as a bridge of friendship and a platform for cooperation, have deepened exchanges and cooperation between China and other developing countries in various fields, and been applauded by the governments and trainees of participating countries.

The 2022 international training workshops, which have been approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology of China, will be held mainly online this year. Please see the attached arrangement for 2022 international training workshops. The costs of online training, as well as those of offline training related to training materials, lectures, visits, local transportation and accommodation, will be borne by the workshop organizers. International travel expenses will be afforded by the trainees themselves.

Following the principle of equality and mutual benefits, result sharing and intellectual property protection, the Chinese Government is willing to share practical technologies through international training workshops to promote common development in the fields of science & technology and economy.
