1.Background and Objectives

The International Training Program (ITP hereinafter)，sponsored by the Ministry of Science and Technology of China, supports officials, senior engineers, scientists, scholars and researchers from governments, institutes, universities and enterprises, among other developing countries to participate short-term trainings in China.  ITP aims to strengthen Science and technology cooperation and exchanges between China and other developing countries, foster capabilities of independent innovation in other developing countries, alleviate poverty, accelerate economic progress and contribute to the wellbeing of the people in other developing countries via S&T training.

2. Requirements for Applicants

1) Foreign citizens holding the nationality of developing countries；

2) Under the age of 45;

3) At least 2 years of working experience and with a bachelor's degree;

4) Fluency in English or Chinese mandarin;

5) In good state of health;

6) Undertake to comply with laws, regulations and other related rules in China;

7) Other specific requirements requested by the organizers which host the ITP.

3. Financial Support

1) Ministry of Science and Technology of China (MOST hereinafter) will cover the cost of training, accommodation, insurance during the training program.

2) The funding will be allocated to the Chinese host institutes.

3) Participants should be able to bear the round- trip transportation fees.

4. How to apply

1) MOST will announce the annual program plan in each February. ITP list will be posted on the official website of MOST

(http://www.cistc.gov.cn/Training/English/);

2) Applicants who are interested in ITP shall contact with the corresponding Chinese organizer to ask for the Enrollment of the Training workshop with specific topics. (Each applicant is only allowed to apply for one training workshop).

3) According to the feedback of the corresponding organizers, Applicants visit the website of Application Center of ITP and fill in the application form to apply the specific training workshop.

4) The corresponding Chinese organizers will contact with applicants and request to submit further information and check the application to apply for acceptance. The institutes will issue the Letter of Invitation to suitable applicants;

5) Eligible applicants (those who receive the Letter of Invitation from the Chinese organizers) shall contact with the Chinese organizers for the required documents of visa application and border entry.
